福岡生まれ。とにかくサンショウウオが好きで、研究の道に進む。
職歴
2001年5月~2007年3月 京都大学大学院人間・環境学研究科 助手; 2007年4月~2015年3月 同 助教; 2015年4月~2023年3月 准教授 ;2018年4月~2023年3月 京都大学大学院地球環境学堂 准教授(兼任); 2023年4月〜現在 京都大学大学院人間・環境学研究科 教授 ; 2018年4月~2023年3月 京都大学大学院地球環境学堂 教授(兼任)。
